Our mission is to help you enjoy matcha. We offer matcha and tea from the best tea regions all over Japan, direct from farms and tea manufacturers. Not all matcha is equal - it can be tough to separate good matcha from the overpriced and mediocre. We work hard to offer the best quality product at each price point.
For something so simple, matcha can have a huge range of flavors ranging from sweet, nutty to savory and complex, depending on the available tea leaves and growing techniques. We started with just 1 type of matcha and now work directly with a network of tea growers and manufacturers in Japan, offering 7 kinds of matcha.
Our collection includes Superior Blend, Organic First Spring Blend, Fragrant Yame Blend, Chiran Harvest, and Masters Collection Organic Culinary Blend. These matcha offerings span different flavor profiles, from balanced and mellow to mild with lighter umami, sweet and buttery, smooth and creamy umami, and robust with some bitterness.
Beginners may want to start with our Superior Ceremonial Blend or Organic Ceremonial Blend, which provide versatility and great taste, also working well for matcha lattes. More experienced matcha drinkers may enjoy the Fragrant Yame Blend for its sweetness and smooth texture, or the Masters Collection Chiran Harvest matcha.
Matcha provides a focused, mellow energy boost without jitters or crashes, thanks to the naturally present L-theanine and caffeine. It is also high in antioxidants, with a greater concentration compared to regular green teas.
When making traditional thin "usucha" matcha tea, use 1 tsp (2 grams) of matcha with 3 oz of 170°F water. For a matcha latte, create a "matcha shot" with 1.5 tsp (3 grams) of matcha and 1 oz of water, then add 6 oz of your favorite milk and sweetener. Cold brew matcha is also easy - just mix 1 tsp (2 grams) of matcha with 6-8 oz of cold water.
We test each crop of matcha for radiation, heavy metals, and other hazards to ensure safety. Matcha's caffeine provides a more measured, lasting energy boost compared to coffee, thanks to the L-theanine content. Stored properly, matcha will remain fresh for about 12 months from the date it is ground.
Our beautiful packaging is designed in-house, inspired by the tea fields of Japan. The included bamboo whisk and tea scoop complete the authentic matcha experience at home, made from sustainable materials and engineered over generations in Japan.
